Race name: 6th Lakatameia Energy Run

Date: Sunday, 5th October 2025

Race distances:

  • 10km Energy Run (at least 12 year old)

  • 5km Energy Run (at least 9 year old accompanied with one parent)

  • 1,000 meters for Elementary school children (up to 12 years of age – adults can accompany children)


Entry fees:

  • 10km Energy Run €20

  • 5km Energy Run €15

  • 1,000 meters for Elementary school children €3,00 (donated all to charity)

Start / Finish area: Charalambou Mouskou Street in front of the Lakatamia Amphitheatre.

Course description for 5km & 10km (10km runners will run same route twice):

Starting from Chalambou Mouskou street it will then enter Grigori Afxentiou street, Georgiou griva digeni avenue, Akadimias (turn point), Georgiou Griva Digeni, Gregori Afxentiou and finish at Charalambou Mouskou (same as start point).

Award categories: Both races (5km & 10km) will have individual trophies for overall awards (men and women). Individual Age Group Awards – Under 30, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, Over 60. 

Team trophy: Award for the largest team/group entries in the 10km & 5km (both races will be taken into account for the total number of the team entries). Awards for the fastest (Best Performing Running Team) in 5km and in 10km (first four runners from each team will count).

When does the race start?

  • The 10km Energy Run will start at 08:00 a.m.

  • The 5km Energy Run will start at 08:10 a.m. 
  • The 1,000m will start at 09:30 a.m.

Please arrive at the start line at least 45 minutes earlier.

When will the awards ceremony start?

The awards ceremony will start at 09:45.

What is my race number?

6-7 days before the running events you will receive an e-mail stating your “race number” along with race-day instructions. 

Where can I pick-up my goody bag including Race Number?

Runners can pick up their goody bags on Thursday (02/10) or Friday (03/10) from Running in Cyprus / the Shop or Saturday (04/10) from the Organisers’ Office at the Exhibition Hall of Lakatamia Amphitheater. 

  • Thursday 02/10: From 09:30 till 13:00 or 15:30 till 18:30
  • Friday 03/10: From 09:30 till 13:00 or 15:30 till 18:30
  • Saturday 04/10: From 09:00 until 17:00

Race Number Usage:

All participants must wear their official race number (bib) on the FRONT of his or her outer layer of clothing. The number must be fully visible at all times (not cut, folded, or obscured) or the runner risks disqualification. The timing chip that automatically records your time is attached to your race number (the foam at the back).

Anyone exchanging a race number will be disqualified from the race and reported to the AIMS and IAAF for long-term ban from all the official races around the world.

What will the Fluid Stations offer?

The 10km runners will pass from the same fluid station twice, at the 2.5 km and the 7.5 km, which will offer Mineral Water in bottles (0.5 L).

The 5km runners will pass the fluid station at the halfway mark (2.5 kilometres) and they can enjoy Mineral Water in bottles (0.5L).

Walkers, Time Limits and Headphones:

Walkers are allowed only on the 5 km Energy Run course (if they are registered) with the only prerequisite being of finishing within the time limit of one hour (60 minutes). The time limit for the 10 km Energy Run will be 80 minutes so please be mindful that roads will reopen for the traffic at 09:30 a.m.

For your own safety, if you find yourself towards the back of your race through injury or tiredness but wish to finish, please continue on the pavement. These cut off times are enforced by the police so that roads can be reopened to the public in accordance with the event permits.

While the organisers of the Lakatamia Energy Run discourage the use of headphones, we do not impose a ban on wearing them.

Can a friend or a family member accompany me on the course with a bicycle?

No runner can be accompanied by a friend or family member on a bicycle. The roads are closed to ALL traffic and this includes bicycles too. Police Officers or Race Officials have the power to stop cyclists and have them detained.

The only exception to this traffic rule are the lead bikes/cars, ambulances, Police vehicles and a few cyclists wearing the official yellow jackets who are checking on the safety and welfare of all the runners on the whole course.

Will friends/family members be allowed to cross the finish line with their athlete?

Friends and/or family members are not permitted to cross the finish line or enter the finish chute with participating athletes. This policy allows each competitor adequate time to celebrate their accomplishment without interfering with other finishers and ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers, and fans. Athletes who choose not to respect the policy will receive an automatic disqualification (DQ).

I am ill, injured or unable to attend. What do I do?

Entries to the Lakatamia Energy Run are NON-REFUNDABLE and are NOT TRANSFERABLE between individuals. Entries once purchased may not be resold, exchanged or given to another person.

Changes to race distance (5km / 10km) can be made up to 2 days before the race, if there are places available. There is a €5.00 fee for all changes.

The Lakatamia Energy Run organisers reserve the right to suspend any entry if there is evidence of any wrong doing.

Awards ceremony: The awards ceremony will take place at the Lakatamia Amphitheatre at 09:45 a.m. for both races. Finishers in all races will receive a commemorative medal.
